OBJECTIVE

Systematize Critical Network Architecture.

Target: Nortel Networks (Simi Valley, CA // Tactical Deployment via Robert Half Int.).

The Landscape: Before the modern cloud, the world ran on Nortel. They were the architects of the optical and wireless backbone that carried the planet's data. In this environment, a "user manual" is not a pamphlet; it is a mission-critical survival guide for network engineers keeping the grid online.

The Mandate: We were deployed to the Simi Valley facility to execute the technical publishing, illustration, and compilation of massive hardware documentation suites. The margin for error was zero. A mistake in a wiring schematic could mean network failure for a city.

TARGET

Nortel Networks was a titan of the telecommunications industry, pioneering the hardware that defined the internet age. Their networking devices were complex, high-voltage systems requiring rigorous maintenance protocols.

The Simi Valley operation was a hub of engineering density. The documentation required to support these devices was not written; it was architected. It demanded a fusion of engineering comprehension and graphical precision to translate silicon complexity into human-readable directives.

DEPLOYED

We managed the lifecycle of information for devices that powered the global network.

  • The 3500-Page Standard: We didn't just "edit" documents; we compiled massive 3,500+ page technical libraries. This required a military-grade approach to version control, ensuring that every schematic, every voltage rating, and every safety warning was current across thousands of pages.

  • Vector-Based Intelligence: We utilized technical illustration to deconstruct complex hardware into clean, vector-based schematics. We turned "dense engineering data" into "visual clarity," allowing field technicians to diagnose issues instantly.

  • The Production Cycle: We oversaw the end-to-end publishing process, from the raw engineering draft to the final high-volume print run, ensuring the physical manuals matched the build quality of the hardware they accompanied.
