Swing City
Swing City is Frank DiSalvo's big-band project. Its original web graphics turn the band name into a place: an illuminated skyline, red stage curtains, and a glowing script title create the feeling of arriving at a show.
A band identity with a stage built into it
The artwork combines two settings in one composition. The city outline gives the name a visual form, while the curtain brings the scene into a performance space. Light effects and the script lettering connect the presentation with the atmosphere of a nightclub or live-music venue.
The two original graphics below show related treatments of that idea. One welcomes the visitor to Swing City; the other presents Swing City 2 against the same skyline and curtain motif. The shared visual elements make the relationship clear while allowing each version its own title treatment.
A site organized around the band
The surviving website archive includes pages for biographies, booking, the calendar, photographs, listening, video, and the song list. That structure addresses the two main reasons someone visits a band's site: to experience the music and to learn more about seeing or booking a performance.
The archived song list groups repertoire by tempo, with sections for up-tempo, medium-tempo, and slower material. That practical organization gives the performance information a use beyond decoration. It helps describe the range of a live set and connects the site's visual promise with the band's repertoire.

The band work shares a client with Frank DiSalvo's performer website and album artwork and the DiSalvo Guitars website. Each project has a different visual character, built around the particular work it represents: the entertainer, the band, or the instrument maker.
