Pickmasters
A specialty catalog built around the product
Pickmasters brought the ingenuity of a locksmith’s workbench to the web. Its specialty tools needed a presentation that could make small mechanical differences clear: recognizable product images, direct navigation, and room to explain each item.
I built a product-focused website around the Pickmasters identity, combining its red-and-gold oval logo with a bold black, blue, and yellow presentation. The design put the tools and their categories at the center of the experience, giving visitors a direct route from the opening page to the material they wanted to explore.
Clear routes through a specialized range
The site organized an extensive range of professional locksmith products into distinct categories, including fiber picks, guide keys, tension wrenches, and other specialty tools. Product illustrations and photographs helped distinguish items that could otherwise be difficult to explain through a name alone.
Rather than crowd every detail onto one screen, the catalog connected its overview with individual product pages and supporting information. About, contact, return-policy, and ordering pages gave the product presentation a practical framework.
Visual explanation alongside the catalog
Original drawings and animated graphics added movement and visual context to the product pages. Those elements made the website more than a static list: the presentation could introduce a device, show its form, and connect an explanation with the item being discussed.
The original site also supported both online ordering and a printable order form. That combination reflects an early web approach that served visitors who preferred different ways to make an inquiry or place an order.
